EUGENE PANTUCK

PANTUCK--Eugene Joel, age 84, Professor Emeritus in Anesthesiology at Columbia- Presbyterian Medical Center died at home on June 19, 2022 of kidney failure and COVID- 19. Born in Boston, he graduated from Tufts University and Tufts University School of Medicine. He trained as an anesthesiologist at Columbia- Presbyterian Medical Center and in turn was mentor to many residents during his thirty years as an attending. In addition to his clinical practice he was an active researcher studying the effects of diet on drug metabolism and writing on the pharmacogenetics of succinylcholine metabolism. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol, sons Steven and Allan (Jodi), granddaughters, Morgan and Alexa, and sisters, Harriet and Shelley. Interment will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery at 1pm on Wednesday. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Tufts University.
