EUGENE WILLIAMS Obituary

WILLIAMS--Eugene F. III, (Gene), passed away in peace on Sunday, December 13, 2020. Gene was born on March 13, 1951 and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended high school at the Salisbury School and graduated from the University of Colorado before joining Kidder Peabody in New York and finishing his career in finance at Tag Associates. As the board chair of the Pitchfork Land and Cattle Company, Gene was known for his strong leadership and generous heart. He served on the Board of Trustees at Saint David's School in New York City for 15 years serving and as board chair for the last five years. This was a position he took great pride in. He was instrumental in expanding their physical plant and leading the search for the new headmaster in 2004. Gene was beloved by a large network of close friends across the globe who looked to him for advice, compassion and love. But Gene's heart belonged to his wife, Jacqueline, and his three boys, Gene (Nicole), Harry (Francesca) and Philip (Claire), their wives and grandchildren, Romy and Isla. Gene was an outstanding father, husband, brother and friend. He was humble, quick to smile, and always saw the best in others. He is survived by his siblings, Rebecca, John, Evie and Teddy and an extended family of nieces and nephews who adored him. An early follower of Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead, Gene brought music and joy to everyone in his life. He will be missed. A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2021. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Saint David's School or Cure Alzheimer's Fund.
