Kimmie Greenberg here, Fred´s wife here, for those of you whom may not know me.
Thank you for the heartfelt condolences and for posting on his Legacy page to help keep his memory alive.
In the attached picture, Fred is surrounded by his extended, blended family, whom he loved dearly.
The picture was taken at home during his illness two months before he passed.
He may have spoken about us, as that man could chat up his life story, if you lent him your ear, lol.
For clarification on the family shot, Erica, his daughter & her husband, Andy, are behind Fred, and Abby their daughter, is on his lap.
To his right, are three of my four children, Ali, Justin & Josh and to his left, my daughter, Jess and two granddaughters, Andi & Jade.
He was so loved, not just by family, but by so many people, whom he bonded with...sometimes complete strangers! He had a knack for making people comfortable enough to "open up" to him. He would have been a great therapist:)
He knew every employee in every department of every grocery store within a 15 miles radius. Yup, from the butchers to the florists & pharmacists...on a first name basis.
He´d disappear on a Saturday, because he´d go to so many places for different things. The man loved to grocery shop...and fire up the "barbie".
Me? I´d rather get my toolbox and fix a few things around the house:)
We were homebodies. On the weekends, at days end, we would binge watch the Britbox station (Crime/Drama) until 4:00 or 5:00 AM.
Ahh, I miss him and thought I´d share a little with people who cared about him.
If you´re posting on Legacy, I know that you do care. Thank you for that
I will check in with Legacy again, so if someone would like to reach out to me for any reason, please feel free to do so.
Happy, Healthy New Year to everyone!
Kimmie

I Just found out Fred passed, months after. it is now October 11th, 2024.
I used to work with his dad Phil and I recall Fred's tiny daughter visiting the office, sitting on my lap and also presenting me with her drawings to hang. I recall her mom also, who was very very sweet. My heartfelt condolences go out to all and to Mark also.

I was very sorry to learn that Fred died this month. Fred managed the Manhattan building where I was president for many years. Together we cheered for the Rangers, ate Korean food and talked about how to make NYC better. He was a good friend and will be missed very much. Our condolences to the Rudd family.
