FREDERIKA BROOKFIELD Obituary

BROOKFIELD--Frederika. Frederika Brookfield, age 58, died July 9, 2025 in La Jolla, California. The cause was cancer. Beloved daughter, sister, friend, extended family members, she will be greatly missed. She attended the Dalton School, Maret School, Kent School, and Connecticut College. An expert in strategic communications, she worked with Conde Nast, CNN, Bon Appetit, This Old House, among other publications.

Frederika was the most beautiful soul, she was bursting with warmth and energy. I have so many happy memories working with her at Bon Appetit. She cracked me up all the time. When I was going through my own treatment last year, she reached out with her phone number, the kindest words, and said she was always there for me. I think I´m one of many, many people she looked after and brought joy to. I will always remember her, and that energy and strength, with such love X

Frederika was such a beloved friend of mine. We met in the simplest way-on a beautiful day at Windansea Beach, just after she moved from NYC and I from NJ. From the start, it felt like two kindred souls connecting instantly. I´m going to miss her warm, beautiful spirit so deeply.
