GERRIT LANSING

LANSING--Gerrit, was a gentleman, a scholar, a kind and loving man, a collector of art, and a wonderful colleague and friend during the 15 years we worked together (1981-1996), he as Board Chairman of Independent Curators International (ICI) and I as co-founder and Executive Director. His generosity of spirit and mind, his dedication to ICI, and his confidence that we would succeed did much to make ICI's growth and stability possible during those, and subsequent, years. His legacy of unstinting good spirits, love of family, and passion for the art of our time and for art-historical scholarship will not be forgotten by any of us who were fortunate enough to spend time with him. I send my most sincere condolences to his wife Sydie, his sons Gerrity and Sims, and his entire family. Susan Sollins-Brown
