It is with great sadness that I am responding to news of Ms. Helen Hamlin's death. I have respected Helen's commitment and contributions to social work with older adults for many decades. Helen enriched my knowledge of aging from international perspectives through her work with the United Nations NGO Committee on Aging. Helen was a caring, inspiring, role model and speaker sharing her professional and personal experiences related to aging. Helen shared her knowledge with students in my courses in the Lehman College, CUNY, Department of Social Work, and always impressed as a knowledgeable, resilient, caring human being. Thank you for your presence in our lives.
