HOFFMAN--Helen G.

and Arnold J. The community mourns the loss of Helen G. and Arnold J. Hoffman. Helen and Arnold were married for 67 years. The couple met at Columbia University School of Law where Helen was among the first women to graduate. Helen worked as Associate Dean of Rutgers University Graduate School of Law, as a mediator for contested cases in Florida and retired as a professor of public administration at Florida Atlantic University. Her extensive community leadership positions include Palm Beach County Ad Hoc Coalition for Human Services and Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County where she served as President from 1996 to 1999. Arnold worked as an attorney, first at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and later at Greenberg Traurig. He was a member of the Civic Association of Palm Beach, on the advisory board of trustees at Good Samaritan Hospital and a consultant pro bono at the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach. A memorial service was held on Sunday, January 18 at Temple Israel in West Palm Beach for Helen who died Monday, January 12 and Arnold who died Saturday, January 17. Arnold and Helen are survived by their children Eileen and Tom and their families.
