HELEN MARCOVICCI Obituary
Torch singer died Thursday, of Carmel, NY. 97 years. Survived by daughter, actress and cabaret singer Andrea, son, Peter, engineer specialty racecars, granddaughter, Alice, sisters, Mary Walker, Elaine Petock and brother, Andrew Figura. Named a Miss TV 1939 World's Fair, appeared as Helen Stuart in 1940's at Maisonette and La Vie Parisienne. Billboard said "swell pipes, excellent delivery, poise, diction." Widowed 1968 from noted internist and house doctor for upscale hotels, Eugene Marcovicci. Remarried Dana Carroll 1980 preceded her in death. Trophy winner as avid tennis player and sailor. Sang at the Oak Room Algonquin Hotel Thursdays in November/December for 24 years. Displayed quick wit, broad smile, signature bright red glasses. Received standing ovation at two Town Hall concerts. YouTube videos available. Ms. Marcovicci died in her sleep of natural causes. Funeral service Thursday, August 25, Cargain Funeral Home, 10 Fowler Ave., Carmel, NY 10512 Reception 11:00am, Service at noon.

Your mother was a wonderful, strong, intelligent and vibrant woman. I treasure the times I met her both when we were in high school and afterwards. She will be greatly missed. I am very sorry for your loss.

Dearest Andrea...sending you much love and comfort to you at this time. It is never easy...no matter what age, daughters always ask "who will take care of me now".
