HERBERT CAMP

CAMP--Herbert L. The lawyers and staff of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP mourn the passing of their partner, colleague and friend, Herbert L. Camp. We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, Robyne, and their family. Mr. Camp joined Cravath in 1966 and worked at the Firm until 1975. He rejoined the Firm as a partner in 1987 and retired in 1999. At the time of his retirement, Mr. Camp was Chair of the Tax Department. Over the course of his career, his practice encompassed general corporate taxation, international taxation matters, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and employee benefits. Born in New York, New York, Mr. Camp received a B.A. magna cum laude from Williams College in 1961, an M.A. from Yale University in 1962 and an LL.B. from Yale Law School in 1965. Before joining Cravath, Mr. Camp served as a law clerk to the Hon. J. Joseph Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
