Howard was a jewel in every way. Not only was he my accountant since 2000 but he helped write the letter that helped secure our being accepted into our new coop building. Howard knew the answer to every question, no matter how arcane or remote. He was never stumped... I loved talking investments with him but my special pleasure was discussing politics. In fact, Howard was the only Republican I ever forgave (even though he defended voting for John McCain and not Sarah Palin) .One of the last times we spoke he told me about his son's wedding. I'm so glad he had that joy. It saddens me to know that he died so young. We will miss him....Bambe Levine

Our most sincere condolences to Howard's family and friends. He was our accountant for many years and was the kind of person you really did enjoy talking to and we just talked taxes! We can't imagine the loss you must feel but please know you will all be in our thoughts and prayers.

I am in shock to learn of Howard's untimely passing. We have known each other since 1981 when we both worked for International Paper Co. Howard became my personal accountant in the mid 80's and became my corporate accountant in 2001. Howard was simply the best in every way! He was principled, loyal and compassionate. On many occassions he was a bridge over troubled waters for me. It is going to take some time to wrap my head around this sad news. I offer my deepest sympathies to his wife, children and family.

My deepest sympathy to Howard's family. Working with Howard over the past ten years has been such a joy, and I always looked forward to mid-May when going through our organization's books was also an excuse for Howard and me to have a long lunch and discuss the state of the world. Our points of view rarely coincided but somehow Howard's gentle humor made these an occasion that we both savored. I will miss him terribly.
