HOWARD SOLOMON

1927 - 2022

SOLOMON--Howard. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons mourns the passing of Howard Solomon, husband of Sarah Billinghurst Solomon, chair of the Columbia Women's Health Care Council (WHCC). A dedicated philanthropist, Mr. Solomon gave an endowed professorship to our department in support of reproductive health research and advocacy in honor of Sarah, a longtime advocate of women's reproductive rights. Under Sarah's leadership, the WHCC has educated, advised, and raised funding for key women's health priorities, most recently women's mental health. Mr. Solomon's generosity - and our gratitude for it - will live in perpetuity in our department.
