SOLOMON--Howard. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital mourns the death of our esteemed Life Trustee Howard Solomon. Howard was first elected a Trustee of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in 2003. He became a Life Trustee in 2019. Howard was a great supporter of our hospital and its mission. Howard Solomon was born in 1927 in New York City. He attended CCNY where he graduated cum laude in 1949, and afterward attended Yale Law School, where he was a member of the Yale Law Journal. He joined Forest Laboratories as President and Chief Executive Officer in 1977, and was elected Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in December 1998. Howard was very active in supporting the performing arts and served on the Boards of the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Ballet, the School of American Ballet, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories. Howard is survived by his wife, Sarah Billinghurst Solomon, who retired as Assistant General Manager, Artistic, of The Metropolitan Opera. Howard has two sons, Andrew Solomon and David Solomon, from his first marriage to Carolyn Bower Solomon. We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, Sarah, his children, Andrew and David, and the entire extended family. Jerry I. Speyer Chair, Board of Trustees Steven J.
