Isobel KONECKY
KONECKY--Isobel Robins. Passed away May 3rd, 2021. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Isobel loved the theater and New York City. She started her career as a singer and actor and moved to producing theater on and off Broadway. Some of her highlights were The Changing Room, which won the 1973 New York Drama Critics Award; Mr. Lincoln; and Charlie and Algernon. She was a member of the Broadway League for over thirty years, and a member of the Advisory Committee of the American Theatre Wing. She was an active member of the Board, President Emerita and served New Dramatists for nearly four decades, the majority of that time as President of the Board. She was also in charge of ensuring meeting humor. Isobel felt so lucky to have married the love of her life, Ronald S. Konecky, who predeceased her in 2010. Theirs was a fairytale life. She will be missed by her daughter Jennifer Konecky Wheelock, son-in-law Robert Wheelock and grandsons, Timothy and Matthew Wheelock.
