ISRAEL SCHLINGER Obituary

SCHLINGER--Israel "Izzy", November 6, 2013. World War II Veteran. Born in the Bronx, NY and graduated in 1942 from Townsend Harris High School, NYC. Son of the late "Pepe" and Alex Schlinger, Husband of Shirley Elfman Schlinger, Brother of Sol Schlinger, Father of Ken and Kathy Schlinger and Dayle and Arthur Carosi, Grandfather of Michael Carosi, Dr. Jennifer Schlinger, Amy Schlinger and Molly Schlinger as well as many dear cousins. Survivor of D-Day plus 30 and Battle of the Bulge. Retired after 48 years with Bache & Co. President and Board member for 33 years of Palmer Terrace Cooperative. Member of Knights of Pythias, Masons, Kiwanis, Combat Infantrymen's Assoc. and Mamaroneck-Larchmont Athletic Old Timers Assoc. Inducted into the Mamaroneck High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Besides his family and friends, he loved Mamaroneck, NY. He was 89 years young. Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or a charity of your choice.
