"The Giants win the pennant. The Giants win the pennant". Russ Hodges, NY Giants broadcaster´s famous call of Bobby Thomson´s home run off the Brooklyn Dodgers Ralph Branca. Ira and I, both Giants fans, saw the "shot heard round the world" on our small black and white TV in our apartment in the Bronx. We opened the windows and together screamed the good news to all.
Ira and I shared many wonderful moments together on basketball courts, on golf courses, as camp waiters, on double dates, and just schmoozing with our friends in Poe Park. Ira was brilliant, a super business man, and a great friend.
He will be sorely missed.

To the harris family, we love you and know that ira is already playing a round of golf with his buddy lew , and they are having a good time and smiling down on all of us .

I remember fondly the basketball games from the Bronx when we were in High School We had spirited contests and enjoyed each other´s company a very competitive and brilliant man.
