Alfred Lord Tennyson said, "The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions." Jim's passions were at once brilliant and expansive, from making beautiful music on the piano to his embrace of great literature and philosophy to his deep love of Mary. In these passions, Jim was indeed a happy man, whose enjoyment of family and friends, in turn, made us happy. Gone from this earth, but always in our hearts, we feel privileged to have been his friends.
