I never met Jean Claude and only saw him once on an online interview hosted by the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center. His presence was palpable and his words quietly felt. I feel the loss of this human.

I am so sorry for your loss. My father, Henry Calvert was in the original caste of America Hurrah at the Pocket Theater in the mid 1960s. Jean Claude Van Itallie was a great playwright and I will remember him always. May he Rest In Peace.

My heart is broken, I was supposed to go back to Shantigar to see Jean Claude, but my parents have been ill, so I wasn't able to go up. I am so very sorry, I can't explain how very sad I am. My deepest condolences to his family, and to the many people that will miss him.
