When we were young children she was teacher. As young adults she helped develope our moral character and was a spiritual guide and now as grown women, she will remain a symbol of strength and in our hearts forever. She was Mother Jean Baptiste when she first came to teach at Ursuline. Her kindness and enthusiasm inspired us all. She brought the classical languages to life for us- we all looked forward to the Greek and Latin classes she taught because she made it all so relevant. As a member of the class of '67, I owe so much to JB and she will remain in my heart and prayers. It is with great affection that I remember her life and hope to always honor her with mine.

My wife Beatrice and I were very happy to have our daughter Ingrid graduate from The Ursuline School. Sister JB was the key to my choice of Ursuline for my daughter. She was a great teacher and a great leader. May she rest in peace.

Including myself, there are three "Ursuline girls" in our family. My sister began when there was a kindergarten and I began in fifth grade, and my niece in high school. Sr. JB was my Latin teacher in high school. She was not only bright, but warm and always concerned about her students.We always loved when she proctored our study halls because she would sometimes fall asleep!! She was the best Ursuline had and there will never be another JB. Ursuline and the world are both better places because of Sr. JB. May she rest in peace.

All of her former students have been posting to this group on Facebook memories that we have had with her in her office, classes and throughout Ursuline in general. Her legacy will always live on through the young women she has taught. Serviam and Ac Fui are words that have been engraved in all of us
