JEREMY FARRELL

FARRELL--Jeremy, a loyal and beloved member of the LeFrak Organization, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 4. A cherished father, husband, friend, colleague and community leader, Mr. Farrell worked for more than five years at LeFrak and was devoted to serving his community as the firm's Special Counsel and Senior Managing Director of Community and Government Affairs. During his time at LeFrak, Mr. Farrell worked hand-in-hand with the City of Jersey City on many vital public initiatives, including the installation of Water's Soul, a monumental public art sculpture located on the Newport waterfront. Mr. Farrell's passing will not only have a profound impact within the LeFrak Organization, but throughout the entire Newport and Jersey City community, where he crossed paths with and was a friend to so many. Those that knew him and had the privilege of working alongside him remember Mr. Farrell as an inspiring mentor. He was the rarest of human beings; incredibly smart and kind while quite firm, Mr. Farrell was respected and even adored by his colleagues - even those who didn't agree with him. Prior to joining LeFrak in 2018, Mr. Farrell served as executive director of the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority and as the Corporation Counsel for the City of Jersey City. A graduate of McGill University and Seton Hall University School of Law, Mr. Farrell began his career as a Judicial Clerk at the United States District Court before becoming an attorney at McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP. Mr. Farrell is survived by his wife Sarah and son Aidan. The LeFrak family and the firm's employees wish to extend their deepest sympathies and condolences to Mr. Farrell's family and express their sincere feelings that he will be deeply missed. Mr. Farrell was a cornerstone in building community bridges and has left a legacy that will not be forgotten.
