JOEL LAMBERT

LAMBERT--Joel Irwin. The family of Joel Irwin Lambert is heartbroken to announce his passing, at the age of 88, of natural causes. Joel passed away on Erev Rosh Hashanah on September 25, 2022 in Wellington, Florida. Joel was born on November 4, 1933 in Flatbush, Brooklyn. He was the son of Henrietta and Oscar Lambert, and brother to Gerald (Jerry) Lambert. Joel lost both of his parents before he was five years old, and was raised with love by Ruth and Alfred Lambert, his aunt and uncle. Joel is survived by the love of his life, his wife Geri, to whom he was blissfully married for 66 years, and his adored children, Rick (Abbi) Lambert, Gary (Rosie) Lambert, and Allison (Howard) Lutnick. Joel was a very proud grandfather to Sara and Molly Lambert, and Kyle, Brandon, Casey and Ryan Lutnick. Joel attended the Wharton School as an undergraduate student and graduated from NYU. He went on to run his father's business, Lambert Frame and Picture Company, alongside his brother and best friend, Jerry, who passed away only six weeks ago at the age of 91. Both Joel and Geri were actively involved for over 20 years in Families Anonymous, in Englewood, NJ, running a 12-step support program for families of those struggling with drug and alcohol addictions. Joel was an avid golfer and an active member of Wycliffe Golf & Country Club and Edgewood Country Club. He loved to make others laugh with his dry wit, and enjoyed dining out, travel, wine, and dirty martinis, and he did it all with his beautiful bride "Gedgy" by his side. All of the above, and being with his family, made Joel happy all the days of his life. Joel lived with grace and dignity, sharing his big heart and loving, warm smile with all. He will be forever missed and always in the hearts of his loved ones.
