John Gamino was one of the first professors I was exposed to when I transferred to the The University of Texas at Dallas, and most definitely one of the best. He was always friendly and patient with students and answered all that they desired to know. He helped guide us through a challenging course and inspired us to undertake reading regularly, not only for the class's success, but for personal enjoyment and improvement. I was deeply saddened to hear he passed away, as he always kept an unwavering positive outlook on his position and never admitted the pains he was suffering behind closed doors. Thank you, Professor Gamino, for showing up each day in class and being a fantastic mentor. You will be missed by all the students who had the privilege of sitting through your riveting lectures!

Prof. Gamino was one of our most lively speakers at UTD, students go out of their way to take his courses. Though I am focused on audit, I took his course in Tax Research this Spring to sharpen my skills in writing for CPAs. He was truly engaged and rooting for our success. One of our favorite catchphrases in class became "are you trying to force me to drink" as he would rip apart our essays and give valuable feedback. News of his passing has been especially difficult, his memory will live on every time I write professionally. I just hope he knew how much of an impact he made on everyone.

My deepest condolences to Jacque Gamino and family - I´ve never had the chance to meet John in person but at least heard him making coffee or cooking breakfast in the background while I conducted Jacque´s virtual training. I remember saying to Jacque , " He´s my Bosley of Charlie´s Angels´ . Although we never had the chance to meet in person , I could tell he was someone special. May John be Blessed and Rest in Peace.
