KLINGENSTEIN--John.

The Rockefeller University deeply mourns the loss of our beloved friend John Klingenstein, a revered member of The Rockefeller University Council for thirty- four years. A true gentleman and a man of deep character, integrity, and compassion, John left the world a better place. With his cherished wife, Pat, also a member of The Rockefeller University Council, he embraced the efforts of Rockefeller investigators working at the frontiers of science and medicine. John will be remembered for his numerous philanthropic and pro bono activities. Under his leadership, the Esther A. and Joseph Klingenstein Fund greatly advanced neuroscience research through its vital support of scientists. John brought vision, generosity, astute judgment, and a belief in the promise of basic science to his service as a member of the Council and its Executive Committee. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Pat, to their children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchild, and to the entire Klingenstein family.
