JOSEPH BECKER

BECKER--Joseph D. , died on August 1, 2021 in New Rochelle, New York of heart failure. Mr. Becker was until 2018 of counsel to the Becker Glynn law firm of New York, of which he was a founder, together with other graduates of the Harvard Law School. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, was adjunct professor of law at New York University for many years, and was the author of a text on international law. He published more than 40 articles on law and public affairs and a novel. As a result of early training at the Yeshivah of Flatbush, he served for many years on the board of directors of the Center for Jewish History and as chair of the Executive Committee of the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research. He was a member of the Harvard Club of New York and the Larchmont Yacht Club. His wife of 63 years, Beate Stern Becker, is a psychotherapist. He is also survived by their children, Robert Becker, a lawyer, Sarah Becker, an adjunct professor of English, and Dr. Jane Becker, an art historian, their spouses, and five grandchildren.
