Dr. DeRose was my teacher, mentor, friend and primary care provider. He was loyal, generous, funny, engaging, encouraging, a hard worker and compassionate. He loved people and loved to teach. He empowered me in every level. His wisdom was matchless. He will be missed. May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory. My condolences ti his family.

Joe was a close friend at both Xavier and Holy Cross, Joe's dad drove us both up to Holy Cross when we entered as freshmen in 1955. He and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dr. Joseph J DeRose was a master clinician and wonderful human being. Joe was a remarkable teacher and mentor who taught so
many of us what it meant to be a doctor. He had a great sense of humanity and humor and truly touched our minds and hearts. He was an inspiration and served as a role model for students, residents and colleagues at all times. He truly loved Medicine and cared deeply for his patients. He had a profound influence on my life and will be missed. My condolences to Pat, Joey and Mary Lou.
