JUANITA SIMMONS

SIMMONS--Juanita, died peacefully earlier this month after a multi-year descent into dementia. She was born in Ridley Park, PA, grew up in Fairfield County, CT, and graduated from Connecticut College in New London, followed by earning a Master's degree in French teaching from Harvard. Her marriage to Donald Simmons in 1967 lasted for 58 wonderful years and produced two beloved sons Jeffrey and Douglas. She was known among her friends for her skill in candid photography and for her decades-long leadership of the International Visitors' Committee of the Colony Club in New York. In addition to her husband and sons she is survived by her daughters-in-law Claudia and Adriana; her grandchildren Sophie, Quin, and Dylan; her sisters Jade Hobson Charnin and Debra Singleton; and her brother John Campo.
