KARL KUECHENMEISTER Obituary
KUECHENMEISTER--Karl. Palm Beach Shores Karl Thomas Kuechenmeister was called home by our Lord and Savior on November 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Detroit on November 30, 1946, Karl was raised in Mt. Lebanon, PA and Westport, CT. Karl was the beloved son of the late Karl Mooers Kuechenmeister and Evelyn Hubbell Kuechenmeister of Westport, CT and Palm Beach Shores, FL. Karl was the beloved husband of 42 years to Elizabeth Lynch Kuechenmeister and loving father to Lt. Col. Karl Mooers Kuechenmeister (Carly) and Britt Elizabeth Kuechenmeister (Theo) and grandfather to Gavin and Logan Kuechenmeister. He is also survived by his devoted sisters Karen, Janis and Mary and many loving in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the devoted nephew of the late Virginia Hubbell Van Wormer and Harry Van Wormer. He was a graduate of Staples High School, Westport, CT and Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA. Karl pledged Kappa Sigma, forming friendships for life. Karl served in the US Navy as a Lieutenant and Aviator. He was assigned to Flight Squadron 101, known as "The Grim Reapers." Karl flew the T-2 Buckeye, the F-9 Cougar and the F-4 Phantom. Karl was a senior media sales executive with CBS Television, NBC Television, Warner Bros. Domestic TV, Lorimar, Time Warner, MTV Networks and Turner Broadcasting Sales. While both working at NBC, 30 Rock, Elizabeth and Karl met in 1981. They were married on May 6, 1983 at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Westport, CT. After many happy years raising Karl and Britt in Westport and Cape Cod, Karl and Elizabeth moved to Palm Beach Shores, "The Best Little Town in Florida," in 2016. Karl was a volunteer with Connecticut Special Olympics and a Board Member of the Saugatuck Shores Club. He held dual citizenship with Ireland. The Veteran's Administration Medical Center and VA Hospice Center, West Palm Beach, provided exceptional and tender care of Karl, for which the Kuechenmeister family is deeply grateful. Karl loved Palm Beach Shores and lunch with the Gang. He was a friend and gentleman to all. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. There are no calling hours.
