LAURIE BERMAN Obituary

BERMAN--Laurie Sue. In loving memory of Laurie Sue Berman, beloved wife, adored mother and grandmother, who passed away unexpectedly one year ago on October 21, 2024. Laurie was the cherished, energetic, and talented wife of Alan Berman (who predeceased her) for 61 years. Laurie had an indelible impact on all who knew her, helping to beautify and enrich their lives. She had an impeccable eye for the use of color and design that was admired by those who had the privilege of knowing and collaborating with her. Laurie had a remarkable attentiveness to the finer details of decor, fashion and entertaining. She was also a gifted cook, formidable bridge player, and fierce intellect. Laurie graduated from New York University, worked as a social worker, and spent much of her life raising her children and was deeply involved in her grandchildren's lives. Her love and caring were expressed through the hours spent cooking, organizing family trips, and sharing her love of art and museums. Laurie's devotion of time and energy to her children and grandchildren made an enormous impact on their lives. Her presence is missed every day and remains constantly in our thoughts and hearts. She is survived by her daughters, Amy Berman and Pamela Cline, son, Jonathan Berman, eleven grandchildren, and brother, Harvey Chestman.

Yesterday

I miss my beautiful and talented dear friend Laurie. She was so caring, kind and so much fun. Laurie gave the best advice and remarkably, was always right!
Beneath her incredible sense of style and glamour was a serious and brilliant bridge player. Our little bridge group misses her every Friday at 2 p.m.
