ROSENTHAL-- Lawrence M., born January 2, 1935, died September 29, 2023, a resident of New Marlborough, MA, and a New Yorker by heart; is survived by his wife Joyce Bernstein, and children Dr. Pamela B. Rosenthal (Samuel P. Wertheimer), Lisa J. Rosenthal (Daniel Levinthal) and Eric M. Rosenthal (Debbie Meyer), as well as five grandchildren: Noah and Rebecca Wertheimer; Jeremy and Nora Mittleman; and Issac Rosenthal, and his sister Meryl Rosenthal Blackman (Kenneth Blackman). Larry was born in Brooklyn to Albert and Florence (nee Zweibel) Rosenthal and was a proud graduate of Brooklyn Friends School and The Wharton School. Larry had a mutli-faceted career that began with the formation of L.M. Rosenthal & Co. And progressed to L M Rosenthal Group that included a portfolio of real estate investments and technology companies. He was a past board member of the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants and a supporter of Mass MOCA, Hancock Shaker Village, Tanglewood, The Rogosin Institute and the North Country School. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 12 noon at Frank E. Campbell - The Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Ave., New York, NY 10028. Interment to follow.

Joyce. I was the member of the NYSE that made LM Rosenthal a member company. I became a vice president in 1967 and I owe Larry and Charles any success I have had. An absolutely brilliant and wonderful man. May he Rest in Peace

We shared a partners desk at Lehman Brothers. One day he heard me making calls looking for an apartment. He said maybe I can help you. He told me that his family had bought some tenement buildings on East 49th off first Avenue. They were working on relocating the tenanants. I could have as many rooms as I wanted. No rent! I picked two apartments on the top floor. One had a wonderful view of the East River. I stayed many months. Very happily. At the end Larry and I gave a demolition party. After several hours of hammering and chipping a door opened and a man appeared. He had been overlooked!!
