Lawrence M. Stone

STONE--Lawrence M., age 77. A leading tax lawyer in his generation, died on March 15, 2009 in Santa Monica, CA. Brilliant, creative, and deeply ethical, his career took him from his slum origins to two major roles in the U.S. Treasury, 12 years teaching at Boalt Hall, U.C. Berkeley, and a 40 year association and partnership with Irell & Manella LLP in Los Angeles. His wife, Anna Jane, children Abraham, Ethan, and Katharine and grandchildren Daniela, Luca, and Margaret survive him. Donations may be made to Friends of Israel Disabled Veterans or American Friends of Magen David Adom.
