Your smile, support, friendship through my times... I am ever grateful and in disbelief I will never see you again. I was going to put Avis 6 ft teddy at yours. I can´t believe I made it too late to see you, that smile again. You are so missed and with deep sadness I say that. Irreplaceable and much loved and missed. Please keep an eye on AVI from above. Until then..

Leo the Go-To Guy
Annie Lanzillotto
Leo was a king. A grand human.
I remember him pulling up on Broadway at Dante Park, Lincoln Center, leaving his car right there on a diagonal to support his mother LuLu's show.
Her and Danny had the best pandemic masks.
Why? Leo. Everything was Leo
Leo was the Go-To guy.
For everything and anything that had to do with New York City life.
When you needed him, he'd be there in ten minutes. Forget clocks, his day was a true 24 hours long.
The only father I ever knew to drive his daughter hours and hours somewhere in Jersey to take the SAT, then sit in his car outside and wait for her.
The family relied on Leo.
Whenever I had a problem, LuLu said,
"Call Leo."
Best air conditioner? Call Leo.
Directions somewhere? Call Leo.
The car? Best N99's? Call Leo.
Restaurants? Leo. Call Leo.
LuLu and Danny need something? Call Leo.
LuLu's birthdays coming up; Call Leo.
When I heard about the new toll proposal on 60th Street for "congestion pricing," I called Leo.
I knew he was the only guy who would be as upset as I over it.
Call Leo. Call Leo.
I want to call Leo right now and tell him how beautiful fun joie di viv-re capable men are rare.
Kings of men. Good sons, passionate fathers, steady husbands, reliable friends.
Men who can go the distance.
"Hey Leo," I'd say, "How is the family supposed to get by without you here, taking care of things?
Who's gonna pull up at two a.m. when Danny needs to be lifted, and drop off groceries 2pm the next day?
Who's gonna always answer the phone and be a Minuteman?
Who's gonna tell Chloe what she needs to know through the years?
Who's gonna give Kia words of encouragement to carry on?
Who will keep us laughing?
Ten men can't replace you Leo.
Not 100.
You're that one in a billion who found ways forward through all kinds of life's impasses.
Your generosity was too big for a body to hold.
The clock outran your heart.
My prayer tonight is that you have celestial business elsewhere.
Heaven knows -- you're the Go-To guy.
