LEONARD SIEGEL Obituary

SIEGEL--Leonard J., Of New York City, on Monday, May 15, 2023 at age 96. Beloved husband of Blanche Siegel for 71 years, adored father of Marjorie Siegel Lyons (John) and Carol Siegel Wolf (Robert). Devoted grandfather "Bops" to Sarah (Chad), Julia (John), Joanna, Luke and James, and great grandfather of four. He served with distinction in World War II, earning a Purple Heart. He spent his career in the insurance business where he advised his grateful clients for many decades. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Leonard was a devoted son and brother, loved New York City, his home in the Berkshires, San Miguel, golf, and more than anything, his family. Leonard was deeply loved and respected by his family, many friends and colleagues and will be missed by everyone who knew him. In Leonard's memory, please consider a contribution to one of his favorite charities, Coalition for the Homeless (www.coalitionfor thehomeless.org) or Central Park Conservancy www.centralparknyc.org

Spending time at the Siegels house was such a joy and i felt like I was at home. Lenny was always so kind and thoughtful and his smile lit up the house. His love of his family was felt and his hug made you feel warm and included. "What a guy" He was special!
