LEONARD YARMUS Obituary

YARMUS--Leonard,

Age 95, passed away December 25, 2016. Lenny served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was Professor Emeritus of Physics at New York University. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flo and sister, Millie. Lenny is survived by sons, Joseph (Terry) and Reuben (Michele); grandchildren, Jake, Hallie, Leah, and Dina; brother-in-law, George; sister-in-law, Betty; nephews; nieces; and cousins. Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Star of David Chapel, 1240 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY. Schoenberg Memorial Chapel.

My Uncle Lenny once protected me from three guys who wanted to beat me up after I accused one of them of stealing my tennis racquet cover. He held them back and made my apologize. That's the kind of person I will always know and love.

I just heard of his passing. He was known as my Uncle Lenny. He was my favorite uncle always loving and caring to me. I have many fond memories of him.
