LINDA HODES

HODES--Linda. The Paul Taylor Dance family mourns the death of Linda Hodes. She and Mr. Taylor first danced together in Martha Graham's company in the 1950s and forged a close, lifelong friendship. Linda was a member of the Paul Taylor Dance Company from 1959 to 1962, but her connection went far beyond those years when she created memorable roles in "Insects and Heroes" and "Junction." In 1993 Mr. Taylor asked her to create the six-member Taylor 2, which flourished under her leadership. She was a trusted counselor at Mr. Taylor's side for many years during Company auditions, helping him choose generations of Taylor dancers. We will miss her consummate artistry, devilish wit, and unflappable disposition. A true giant has left us. We offer condolences to her family.
