SERTERIDES--Louis. Louis Serterides, an esteemed criminal defense attorney and brilliant critical thinker, passed away peacefully at his home on July 30, 2023. He was 80. Mr. Serterides was a lifelong resident of Jersey City, New Jersey and a graduate of Lincoln High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and law degree from Duke University. A passionate and zealous advocate of criminal justice, Mr. Serterides was a voracious reader, puzzler, astronomer, world traveler, and curious scholar. He loved books, history, college sports, The New York Times, National Public Radio, and a good meal with great company. He was predeceased by his beloved grandparents, parents, and cherished aunt. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, treasured colleagues, and friends. A fund in his honor was established to support the New Jersey Innocence Project at Rutgers University (give.rutgers.edu/serterides innocencefund), and a dinner in his honor will be held on September 21, 2023 at 5pm at Renato's Restaurant, 278 Central Ave, Jersey City, New Jersey.
