if only you knew how you impacted my life first by having Christina my best friend and then welcoming me into your home. Just about every weekend you would feed me, give me advice, invite me to your wonderful holiday parties and make me feel so loved and welcome with your smile. I have not stopped thinking of you. Every Christmas, every Mother's Day, there is another mom that I cannot reach out to. I miss your Christmas cards, you parties, your laugh. I miss you giving Christina and I advice and scolding us. You were a huge part of who I am. I always looked forward to spending the night with Christina and couldn't wait to hear what lesson you had to teach us or what gorgeous chic, outfit you were wearing that day, even your PJ's were chic. I am so lucky to have had you in my life, you still make me smile. I adore you and miss you so much. New York is not the same. When passing 64th st I always look up to your window remembering the plants that adorned the dinning room and draps in your bedroom and wish I could see it all again. You will always be remembered and loved, that is my gift to you. Thank you for doing such a great job raising a wonderful, caring, funny daughter. She has always been there for me and I am forever be grateful and promise to look after Christina for you.

Today would have been your 73rd birthday! 3 years ago today was the last time we spoke.. If only I knew.. Today the boys and I will celebrate you, your beautiful life, and all of the joy you have brought each one of us!! It is still you and I against the world as you always told me. I carry and cherish all the memories and life lessons you left me with. Never in a million years did I think we would be apart on your 73rd birthday. You were spared any more suffering but taken way too early. I would have killed for just one more day! When I think of Aunt Marlene, many thoughts come to mind. One enormously funny was the time when Nick from Montauk Airport had come for a visit. Marlene was expecting Nick to arrive in a yacht, so she hurried around the house selecting just the right outfit for this sunny afternoon. With makeup on and adorned with her favorite jewelry, as would be expected, she looked radiant. Nick arrived on time...in a row boat. Marlene, being the good sport she was, attempted to get from the dock into the row boat and fell in head first. The rowboat tipped over. Oh, did I mention, she couldn't swim. With head under water the only thing suspended above her head was her arm...appears she didn't want to get her watch wet. Turned out Nick didn't know how to swim either, so I had jump in and save them both. Those summer's on Star Island happen to be some of the most memorable years of my youth. God Bless you Marlene, you were a class act!! I'll always Love you...

Happy Mother's Day Mommie,
It's my 2 nd Mother's Day without you. I hold the memories near and dear to my heart. Today was our day...just the girls...we would meet and do our special shopping trip! Both excited like lil kids...envelopes in hand and roaring n ready to go. Sure do miss you. But I have the memories of US Forever...and no one can take those away!! I know I will see you again one day... I hope I have made you proud. Know that I am happy and am raising the most beautiful children ever. They are kind and compassionate and full of love!. Mark is doing great and climbing...boy would you be proud...he is a great Dad. The kids n I talk of you often..we giggle and remember all the wonderful times we had. Happy Easter Mommie... Today and Everyday I miss you and think of you.. I saw the Easter parade today in the City and had to crack up at the thought of our past Easter days adventure...I told Lawson and Griffin and they thought it was hysterical. I know on this day we would have all been together hiding Easter eggs and finding those baskets like we did for so many years.. We Love and miss you so much. Happy Thanksgiving Aunt Marlene!! Will NEVER forget your Turkey that exploded in the oven because you put the cold pyrex pan and Turkey in the hot oven. That same day while helping you paint your bedroom spilling the entire pan all over the rug and we didn't know what we were going to tell Uncle George so we blamed Christina, knowing full out that he would NEVER get mad regardless of what Christina did.
