Mary Brady Obituary

BRADY--Mary Filardi, died on April 29, 2008 after a short illness, having survived her late husband, John F. Brady, former Executive Director of the Industrial Home for the Blind. Mary, known to many of her friends as Mickey, is survived by her four devoted children and their spouses and partners. They are her daughters: Roseanne Saalfield and her husband, Jim Saalfield; Peggy Brady and her partner, Deb Winsor; Patricia Corbett and her husband, John Corbett, and her son, John Brady and his wife, Alyce Brady. Also surviving are her eight beloved grandchildren, Peter, Meaghan, Jonathan, Sam, Ian, Lauren, Clara and Jack. Mary will be remembered as a proud women of strong opinions, which she did not hesitate to share with a quick wit and sometimes sharp tongue. She mothered many, not just her children and grandchildren, with a heartfelt warmth and generosity. She will be missed by all of us who know we were lucky to have shared our lives with her. A memorial reception will be held on May 31st from 2-4:00pm at the home of her daughter, Patricia Corbett, 124 Furhman Ave. Ramsey, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to The Maple Street School Scholarship Fund, 21 Lincoln Road, Brooklyn, New York 11225, supporting early childhood education or The Town of Harvard Public Library, Massachusetts Avenue, Harvard MA 01451 where a crossword puzzle corner was dedicated in her honor.
