MAURICE GOLDSTEIN Obituary

GOLDSTEIN--Maurice Joel, age 86, of Brentwood, CA passed away suddenly on May 7, 2022. He is survived by his wife Judy Henry, children Jeffrey and Jamie, grandchildren Evan and Alec and daughter-in-law Michelle. Married for 57 years, he always said the success to his marriage was simply compromise and a good sense of humor. Joel was born in Brooklyn, New York to Esther and Manny Goldstein. As a child, he studied piano at The Julliard School of Music, but his passion was golf. After graduating University of Buffalo, he went on to a successful career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Always looking for a new challenge, he founded MSI Entertainment Inc. in 1975 as well as producing with Judy two musicals both on and off Broadway. He continued to work and grow the business until his retirement at age 80. A friend to many. Joel always found potential in those who did not see it in themselves. Jamie spent many years working with Joel at MSI and Jeffrey credits his father with teaching him the value of hard work. Built on love and mutual respect, Judy and Joel were partners in life and work. He loved deeply and we take comfort in knowing that Joel is now at peace. The family has named the following charities for any donations to be made in Joel's name: Planned Parenthood, Doctors Without Borders and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
