We always were grateful for your advice and help in sustaining The Tibet Vision Project for the many years of its existence. It was the meetings at Perry's, your home and mine where you shined, light the light you helped to bring to the darkest corners of Tibet. Many thousands of Tibetans are seeing today thanks to you and all of the facets of aid you gave. Too many wonderful stories to tell. Perhaps, someday I will be able to let everyone know of your participation and contributions to ophthalmology.
Until then, Happy Trails.............. I celebrate your life!!!!!

I would travel to San Fran and stay at his house,. Our conversations were lively and he knew the answers to everything, He was generous, Philanthropic, and loyal. I will miss our visits greatly,

I am grieved to learn of my friend Maurice's death, but his life was a blessing to me. We became friends in the mid-90s. As we lived just a block away, we often got together for an outside lunch at Perry's or just an hour of chit-chat about Martinis, film, and even Ladino, the language of the Sephardim of Spain. Both of us had been fans of Pan American Airlines, and I'd written a big picture book on the airline in 1999. Maurice successfully reprinted the Pan Am book in 2013 at his company Council Oak Books, and we both flew over to Hawaii for a Reunion of Pan Am employees. Together we formed an imprint, Kanbar & Conrad Books, to bring 3 other books to print. Maurice was fascinated by my young son Jack, and vice-versa, and shared his many inventions with Jack. Martha, Jack and I will miss Maurice, but are grateful to have known him.
