KLEIN--Melvyn. We regretfully announce the passing of Melvyn (Mel) N. Klein on February 12, 2025, in Houston, Texas. A visionary investor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Mel reshaped private equity, co-founded acclaimed films, and dedicated decades to advancing cancer research and patient care. His influence extended from Wall Street to Hollywood to MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he tirelessly worked to expand access to life-saving treatment. A proud alumnus of Colgate University, the London School of Economics, and Columbia Law School, Mel's legacy is one of innovation, mentorship, and generosity. He is survived by Annette, daughter Jenna, grandchildren Catalina and Caden, his brother Marty (Vicky), many nieces and nephews, and a vast network of dear friends.
