OferGlobal, GH Management and Eastgate Realty express our deepest condolences to the family of Mike Alter who passed away surrounding by his family in his home on July 15th. For more than thirty years, Mike was a trusted friend and an esteemed colleague whose larger than life personality lit up any room he entered. If Mike was in the office there was no question where he was standing. His booming voice, filled with enthusiasm, was heard throughout. Mike embraced life - he loved to have a great time - he loved to be happy. His cutting wit and humor in both English and Hebrew rapt all of us. Mike "grew up" in real estate with our family. He was a self-taught, self-made man who could not only see the potential in a building but could develop a building to its fullest. Whenever Mike put his mind to something it happened. Sometimes it took months, sometimes it took years, but it happened. Mike Alter was a dedicated man of his word. In his incredible career, Mike not only developed deep relationships with so many of his colleagues but also with brokers, developers and contractors in the field. There is no one in New York Real Estate that has worked with Mike and forgotten the experience. Most of all, though, Mike loved his family. His wife Rivka, his two sons Ilan and Yoav and his two daughters Dana and Sharon. A phone call from any of them almost always meant Mike excused himself from a meeting or a conversation. The enormous love his family had for him has been evident by their unwavering support they have given to him during his illness. We cannot imagine anyone who would have fought harder to stay with his family than our dear friend Mike. We will miss you, Mike. The halls will be emptier without your presence. We pray that your memory will be there to swaddle us during our grief.
