MURIEL MARCUVITZ Obituary
a novelist and short story writer who published under her maiden name, Muriel Spanier, passed away on January 12, 2017 at the age of 95. She is survived by her son, Andrew (Eileen) and daughter, Karen (Paul Levy), grandchildren Rebecca (Darren Anikstein), Charlotte (David Gudis) Alexis (Enrique Hernandez) and Adam Marcuvitz and seven delicious great-grandchildren. Her novel, "Staying Afloat," was published by Random House when she was 65. She published numerous short stories in magazines that ranged from the Saturday Evening Post, Paris Review and other literary quarterlies to Redbook and Ingenue. She was a beautiful, intelligent, warm and loving woman, adored by her family and will be greatly missed. The family will be sitting Shiva on Monday and Tuesday from 5pm-8pm at her daughter's home.
