NATHAN GOLDBERG Obituary

GOLDBERG--Nathan. It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Nathan Goldberg, beloved father, grandfather, husband, uncle, and lawyer extraordinaire, on December 1, 2025. Born in 1946 in a Displaced Person Refugee Camp in Germany to Jacob and Helen Goldberg, who miraculously survived the Holocaust, Nathan was raised in Brooklyn, New York, and his Brooklyn roots and street smarts never left him, as he became one of the top trial lawyers in the country. Nathan moved from New York to California in 1972 to attend Loyola Law School, where he graduated #1 in his class, and where he met classmates Gloria Allred and Michael Maroko. While in law school, Nathan, Gloria, and Michael decided that they wanted to open their own law firm and practice law together as partners, founding the law firm Allred Maroko & Goldberg in 1976. Due in large part to Nathan's extraordinary litigation skills and successful trial results, Nathan was recognized by numerous prominent legal organizations, as well as by judges and lawyers, as one of the most preeminent civil rights and employment discrimination attorneys in the country. Nathan's warmth, compassion, generosity, integrity, good humor, and strong moral compass guided his professional and personal life. Nathan had a soft heart for those who needed help the most, and he stridently represented his clients in their pursuit of justice. Nathan will forever be cherished and loved by his devoted sons, Jacob and Brendan, his wife Hayley, his granddaughter Penny, and his niece Jessica. Nathan will also forever be remembered by all the lawyers and staff at Allred Maroko & Goldberg, past and present, who have been blessed to have worked with Nathan and who experienced, firsthand, his kindness, generosity, legal skills and mentorship. Nathan was predeceased by his adoring parents, Helen and Jacob Goldberg, and his sister Reya Goldberg. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to make a donation, Nathan's choice of charity is Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) www.fidf.org May Nathan's memory be a blessing.
