NATHANIEL SPRINGER

SPRINGER--Nathaniel E. Nathaniel E. Springer was born on June 30, 1928 in Anniston, Alabama and died on November 19, 2021 in New York City. He was a remarkably kind and generous man, respected by all who knew him both personally and professionally. At the age of 16 he left Alabama for the University of Michigan. After graduation he came to New York to attend Columbia Law School. While there he met his beloved wife Barbara Himmell Springer, to whom he was married for 71 years. He worked at Baldwin Paper Company, where he became president in its final years and later as a partner at the Alco Standard Corporation. Nat was a devoted husband and father, avid golfer, ardent Yankees fan and lover of New York City. He will be greatly missed by his wife, their children and their families: Katy and Dana Eaton, Tom and Celeste Springer, Bill and Lauren Springer, their grandchildren, Sarah, Sam and his wife Ally, Julia, Henry and his wife Hadley, Charlie, Suzcelle and many friends.
