PATRICIA PATTERSON Obituary

PATTERSON--Patricia Ann. Patricia Ann Patterson, 75, of Tewksbury, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on August 16, 2024. Pat was born in Philadelphia, PA, a graduate of Temple University, and Georgetown Law School, both on full academic scholarships. Pat retired as Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Vice President for American Express after working there for 40 years. Pat's legal expertise enabled AmEx, as a credit card lender, to form a banking entity that set the stage for the enormous growth and success of the company for the past 30 years. She was an avid nature enthusiast and environmentalist, dedicating much of her time and resources to multiple animal rights and environmental organizations. Pat had a sense of wonder, adventure, and passion for wildlife and the environment. She had a deep interest in astronomy, history, science, and evolution. She was known for her brilliant mind, her wit, and her eclectic interests. Pat is survived by her loving wife of 45 years, Patricia Berran, her sister-in- law Marion Patterson, multiple nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews, and her dearest friend, Douglas Galloway.
