August 22, 1927 - October 3, 2016, in Brooklyn, NY. He served the Navy on the USS Hancock, attended Brooklyn College on the GI Bill and owned D. Robbins & Co, the world's oldest and largest magic trick, book and novelty wholesaler. The 'godfather of magic', his humor, helpful, honorable and friendly dealing was loved by his worldwide customers. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rhea, two daughters, Elise and Barbara, grandson Julian Fried, sister Ruth Schrank. Daughter Judith and brother David predeceased him.
