We have known Joan & Paul for over 70 years!! Met in high school and shared many happy occasions together. From sweet sixteens, graduations, weddings, births of children and grandchildren. So to say this is a terrible loss for us and his family is an understatement. His was loved and is greatly missed every day. He is forever in our hearts. With much love, and sincere sympathy to Joan and his family, Susan and Richard.

Paul Gable was a wonderful, wise and witty person. It was my good fortune to be born a cousin to Paul, but it is only over the last 7-8 years that I have come to know Paul and Joan as friends. Growing up in Brooklyn, I got to see Paul at funerals and weddings. We had not kept in touch. Through my sister, who lived in Coral Lakes too, I discovered that Paul and Joan also lived in Florida and so we eventually came to reacquaint with them and in turn come to love them. We would meet at La Luna or Flakowitz and being with them felt like home to me. Paul always had us laughing and we felt happy being with them. Of course, Paul was not well, but I never heard him complain. He was a warrior. He is going to be missed so much by many people, and I and my partner, Lenny, are among them. I'm happy that we became close the last few years. It would have been such a pity not to have known him and Joan.
We send our love to Glenn and Gregg, who were so lucky to call Paul "dad." We love you Joan and our friendship will always be there.
Love Always, Phyllis & Lenny

In loving memory of Paul who made me smile & laugh! I will always remember when I moved into my apt above his and he called me up & said I was up till 12pm waiting for the other shoe to drop..we had no carpeting yet..at that moment I knew we would become fast friends because I already met Joan .. And we did !! I will always remember Paul and the great times we had at the Flushing Swim Club!!!
