PHILLIP ROMERO Obituary

ROMERO--Phillip Earl. Psychiatrist, author, and artist Phillip E. Romero, MD passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. He was 75 years old. Dr. Romero spent most of his life in NYC, where he practiced for more than 40 years. He marveled at how the mind and creativity could foster resilience and healing, which he explored in his latest book, Andy Warhol's Brain: Creative Intelligence for Survival. He is remembered with love by his daughter, Sayume Romero.

I consulted Dr. Romero one time and what he said directly and honestly about toxic family relations stunned me and has stayed with me ever since. I must have shared it with 100 people face to face and in thousands of online posts.

I have been a patient of Dr Romero for the past few years. He has been such a positive influence in my life. He was always so supportive and encouraging. He often expressed how proud he was of my efforts that I put into our therapy. I will miss Dr Romero and always be grateful that we met.
