PHYLLIS MENDELSON Obituary

MENDELSON-- Phyllis Wishingrad, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of December 25 at her home in Floral Park, NY at the age of 98. A former elementary school teacher in Valley Stream, Phyllis was married to Irving Wishingrad who passed away in 1973. They had four children, Joan, Jay, Don and Amy. In 1977 she married a widower, Irving Mendelson, who had five children. Phyllis will be remembered for her kindness towards all, her strength in the face of many challenges and her ability to find the positive in everyone. She is survived by her daughter Amy and her son Don, step- children Ritchie, Peter and Robbie, six daughters-in-law, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

I only became acquainted with Phyllis during her 9th decade. Even though well into her nineties, she was energetic, and socially and mentally engaged. One of the last to leave a party. She was an inspiration to all. Our sympathies to Amy and Phyllis's entire family. Sue and Norm
