PHYLLIS SIMON Obituary

SIMON--Phyllis B.

We report with great sadness the passing of Phyllis B. Simon on October 23, 2017. She was a wonderful and joyous lady! When she entered a room the lights would brighten, and outside the sun shone more intensely. I fell in love with her beauty the moment I first saw her. As I got to know her, I fell even more deeply in love with her. Phyllis graduated from high school at age 16, a member of the Honor Society Arista. She went on to St. John's University and eventually became a paralegal. She was a driving force when I started my own business and helped to make it a success. After I retired, we traveled the world and also spent our time involved in charitable causes. We established "The Morton A. and Phyllis B. Simon Foundation, which Phyllis managed with great care and zeal. We had 63 plus years of a romantic life together. In addition to being a wonderful wife, Phyllis was an endlessly devoted and loving mother to our two children Leslie P. Simon (Brian Kaplowitz) and Harlan H. Simon (Eden Platt). She taught them about art, literature and music but more importantly about the value of kindness, generosity and decency. We also have five grandchildren whom we adore, Nathaniel Simon, Jacob Simon and Rebecca Simon and Jonathan Kaplowitz (Stephanie Kass) and Rachel Kaplowitz. We Will Think of Her Every Day of Our Lives With Deep and Abiding Love.
