RAYMOND GIERI Obituary
Raymond Gieri, beloved father, grandfather and husband, passed away in his home on February 6, 2017. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle and Jackie, grandchildren, Finley, Dylan, Jackson, Griffin and Isabel, and his wife Katalin. Ray began his lifelong career with the United Nations in 1966, and retired as the Chief Executive Officer of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund in 2000. He served in the Peace Corps in Malaysia from 1963 to 1965, where he taught Mathematics at Malay College in Kuala Kangsar. He was loved deeply by his family, colleagues, students and friends. Ray touched the lives of so many people with his wonderful mix of intellect, kindness and dedication to public service. His loss is felt profoundly by those who love him and miss him dearly.

RAY was a colleague and friend at the United Nations. We spent many ours together in innumerable meetigs. His wife Kati was my subordinate, and his junior daughter Jackie was a school mate and friend of my daughter Marina. I was his frequent guest at his seaside house in Fire Island. I should like to tell Jackie that Marina remembers her fondly.
